FOR BEST RESULTS — FOLLOW THE PROCESS OUTLINED BELOW
Please allow 5–7 days for processing an application.
STUDENT RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Apply to the college or vocational school using the Common App or the college’s official website.
2. Complete a “Transcript Request Form” for each application through your Naviance Portal.
3. If you need a Letter of Recommendation:
- Pick up a Brag Sheet from your counselor or from Mrs. Perkins in the College and CareerCenter.

Give the completed Brag Sheet to a teacher, counselor, or coach.

Provide at least two weeks’ advance notice when requesting a recommendation.
COMPLETING COLLEGE APPLICATIONS
College Application Process — Online Version
(Direct Institution or Through Common App)
- Complete your portion of the application and carefully check spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
- Read all instructions twice and follow them exactly.
- Use a practice sheet before submitting essays.
- If you receive free or reduced lunch and a payment is required, you may need to:
- Submit a paper application, and your counselor will provide a fee waiver,
- Request a fee waiver through the Common App, or
- Pay online with a credit card.
- Request letters of recommendation or transcripts through your Naviance Portal during yoursenior year.
- Email all supporting documents directly to the college if needed, or have your personal academiccounselor email them on your behalf.
